Insurance is a requirement
For the IEC working holiday programme you must be insured for medical care, hospitalisation and repatriation for your entire stay. The border officer may ask for your proof of insurance on arrival. If your insurance is shorter than your visa, your work permit may be shorter.
Bring your proof of insurance
You will receive an English proof of insurance from us. Print it and keep a copy on your phone. Choose an end date that matches the period you want to work.
Provincial healthcare
Some provinces give temporary workers access to public healthcare after registration, often only after a waiting period. Until then, and for anything the province doesn't cover, you need your own insurance.
The US next door
Vancouver is close to Seattle. A short tourist visit to the US is covered under conditions with Worldwide excluding US. Going more often or for longer? Choose Worldwide including US.
